About

Jess Young’s practice is very much influenced by her direct surroundings in South Wales, and a love of the outdoors, and these themes run throughout her work. She is particularly interested in expressing the relationship and dialogue we keep between our internal and external worlds, especially in an increasingly hostile and unsettled time, and how this, coupled with mythology and imagination, can bring us harmony and a sense of belonging. In her paintings the natural world, particularly bodies of water, represents that constant elemental truth that runs through all of us. Jess Young lives and works in Swansea.
